About the event

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Companion Animal Subcommittee of the American Bar Association TIPS Section's Animal Law Committee is presenting two free 90-minute webinars to raise awareness and help survivors and the animals they love. All are welcome, you need not be an ABA member to attend!

This webinar is co-presented with the Equine Law Subcommittee of the ABA and addresses the unique challenges that domestic violence survivors with horses experience in an abusive relationship. Moderator Aviva Vincent and panelists Maricarmen Garza, Cynthia Glensgard and Alana Van Gundy will provide an overview of key legal issues in this emerging area, as well as provide safety planning, best practices, recommendations, and resources to support domestic violence survivors with horses.
