Toronto Humane Society goes beyond just being an animal shelter- providing a full range of services to support guardians and their pets at all stages; training and behavioural support, temporary sheltering, accessible veterinary care and pet food support. Ensuring we are doing all we can to help animals get healthy, remain healthy and experience a better life together with their guardians. Strengthening the human-animal bond not just for our shelter animals but for all the animals in our community.

With over 25 years of experience in pet behavior and family dynamics, Karis is a leading world expert in the area of pet custody, bringing her deep understanding and passion to the delicate and often emotionally charged arena of divorce. Her mission is to ensure the well-being and needs of animals are at the heart of pet custody decisions.

Karis's unique background as both a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant and an Accredited Family Mediator allows her to provide a comprehensive and compassionate approach to helping families navigate this challenging time. She understands that pets are cherished members of the family and deserve to have their voices heard. She offers mediation to divorcing couples, as well as education and training to professionals globally in the area of pet custody.
